- Responsible for overseeing and coordinating managed care, billing compliance and collection functions in the licensed clinics and other agency programs that bill third party insurance.
- Maintains working knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare and private insurance policies, procedures and rules, OMH and OASAS billing rules and regulations.
- Trains, coaches and supervises clinic support staff in patient scheduling, managed care, point of service collections, billing and related procedures.
- Works with management to develop and implement uniform best practice standards across service sites.
- Ensures that established procedures are followed in scheduling patients efficiently and that insurance coverage is in effect and that services are authorized.
- Ensures that established procedures are followed in collecting fees/co-pays at point of service and that cash is deposited timely.
- Coordinates and conducts internal billing compliance audits.
- Associates degree in business administration, human services or other relevant field with a minimum of four (4) years experience in performing billing support functions in a medical or social work practice setting, including at least two (2) years supervising experience.
- Strong general knowledge of third party billing.
- Strong communication and supervisory skills.
- Demonstrated skill in managing clinic administrative operations.
