Donor Response Encouraging; Report to Follow

BUFFALO, N.Y., June 29, 2011 – Catholic Charities of Buffalo reports that response has been encouraging from donors to its most recent plea for support. Bishop Edward U. Kmiec, bishop of Buffalo, last week asked donors and the community to help Catholic Charities reach its $10.5 million goal this year.

ECHO Program Can Help Renters at Risk of Being Homeless

BUFFALO, NY, June 27, 2011 – Funds are available to assist low-income families and individuals residing in many communities across Erie County who are homeless or at risk of being homeless. The Erie County Housing/Homeless Outreach (ECHO) Program can provide financial assistance for rent payments, security deposits, utility payments and moving costs.

BUFFALO, N.Y., June 23, 2011 – With just one week before the fiscal year closes on the 2011 Appeal in support of Catholic Charities of Buffalo, Bishop Edward U. Kmiec, bishop of Buffalo, today urged a final push that will put the Appeal over the top of its fundraising goal this year. Just under $100,000 is needed to achieve its $10.5 million goal, the organization announced.

 BUFFALO, N.Y., June 22, 2011 – In a display of hard work and philanthropy, Alexandra Chambers, a seventh-grade student at Southtowns Catholic School in Lakeview, raised $619 for the 2011 Catholic Charities Appeal through sponsorships by running the Buffalo Half Marathon May 29 as part of a service project for the National Junior Honor Society.

BUFFALO, N.Y., June 21, 2011 – For the third consecutive year, Catholic Charities Department of Workforce Development and Education has received an Adult Literacy Program grant from the Dollar General Corporation. This is the second year Dollar General has awarded a grant for $20,000; the first year $10,000 was awarded.

Catholic Charities 2011 Appeal Hits $10 Million Mark

BUFFALO, N.Y., June 1, 2011 – The 2011 Appeal in support of Catholic Charities of Buffalo has topped $10 million, with less than $500,000 needed to achieve its goal of $10.5 million, the organization announced today. The goal is within reach as a recent push to contact lapsed large gift donors raised the total to $10,023,942.68.
