BUFFALO, N.Y., May 12, 2011 – Catholic Charities of Buffalo has received a $2 million federally funded Targeted Assistance Grant from the New York State Office of Temporary and Disability Assistance, which will be utilized by the Agency to support its Immigration and Refugee Assistance Program with various aspects of refugee employment and job training.

Catholic Charities Appeal Hits $9.5 Million Mark

BUFFALO, N.Y., May 11, 2011 – The 2011 Appeal in support of Catholic Charities of Buffalo has reached $9.5 million, with just under $1 million to go to achieve its goal of $10.5 million, the organization announced today. The progress continues as parishes and the corporate community increase their support for the campaign, bringing the total to $9,506,326.51.

BUFFALO, N.Y., May 9, 2011 – During the recent season of Lent to encourage almsgiving, 250 first through eighth-grade students enrolled in the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church Faith Formation program collected close to $760 through their “Pennies from Heaven” fundraiser for the 2011 Catholic Charities Appeal. Students of the Kenmore church program used Lenten collection boxes to help them remember to save their change.

2011 Appeal Reaches $9 Million

BUFFALO, N.Y., May 3, 2011 – Just two weeks after announcing the progress of the 2011 Appeal in support of Catholic Charities of Buffalo, the organization today announced that an additional $729,829.25 in cash and pledges has been received, bringing the total to $9,054,181.80 or 86.2 percent of the $10.5 million goal.
