BUFFALO, NY, May 28, 2015 - Powerful Tools for Caregivers, a six-week educational program focusing on tools a caregiver needs to take care of themselves, will begin June 1 from 6-8:30 p.m. at Temple Beth Zion, 805 Delaware Ave., Buffalo. The program is a collaboration among Catholic Charities Older Adult Services, Temple Beth Zion and the Erie County Department of Senior Services.
Caregivers - those who care for someone with a chronic illness - who attend the program, which will be held Mondays June 1 through July 6, will discover tools to handle stress, improve self-confidence, better communicate, create a balance in life and locate helpful resources.
The program cost of $25 includes a copy of The Caregiver Helpbook. It is free for Independent Health and BlueCross BlueShield of WNY members.
