ProjecTruth offers a dual component module that teaches character
and virtue as it is connected to committed love within marriage.
Character
Formation
-Character can be defined as the constellation of virtues possessed
by a person. Virtues are objectively good human qualities - good
for the individual because they help them lead a fulfilling life,
and good for the community because they help us live together harmoniously
and productively. -Thomas Lickona
Character Formation
ProjecTruth opens the door to character development through creative and thought-provoking programs called CharacterPower and Character at the Movies. These programs use music and popular films to open up a dialogue with students about character and its role in shaping our lives. ProjecTruth educators may use film and/or music to illustrate character-defining moments or situations.
Timeline: · 4 – 5 Class Sessions, 40 Minutes per Class.
Presented over the course of one week, but varies according to program setting.
Participants are requested to complete a confidential survey.
Abstinence Education
The Abstinence Education component for ProjecTruth utilizes the best elements of leading abstinence until marriage curricula along with LifeSongs: Make the Right Choice, a new and dynamic curriculum developed by ProjecTruth right here in Western New York . LifeSongs is the result of the first-hand experience in delivering the abstinence until marriage message to local teens. Developed in conjunction with nationally recognized experts, LifeSongs uses original music as a metaphor to deliver powerful messages about the many benefits of remaining abstinent until married.
