Catholic Charities compliance plan is a formal statement that outlines our intention to conduct itself ethically in regard to our business operations, government and funder regulations and requirements, and client services and care. The purpose of a formal compliance plan is twofold:
1.) It provides a blueprint for the Agency’s compliance program and how we intend to accomplish the aforementioned goals.
2.) It encourages employees to report conduct that does not uphold our pledge to doing business the right way.
Federal Law requires healthcare providers to develop and implement formal compliance programs. In that vein, the Department of Health and Human Services’ Office of Inspector General (HHS-OIG) has been working on preventing fraud, waste and abuse in federally funded healthcare programs such as Medicare and Medicaid.
By implementing and adhering to the Agency Compliance Plan, we will meet our legal obligations and also send a clear message to our staff and the communities we serve that we are committed to conducting ourselves in an ethical manner, promoting good employee conduct and providing quality service to our clients.
