East Delavan Academy Construction & Trades Training


Catholic Charities of Buffalo Workforce & Education Services and 716 Ministries have joined together to offer the East Delavan Academy Construction & Trades Training Program for individuals ages 18 and older. This is a full-service program, from training to job placement and retention and so much more. 

New for our spring session beginning May 4 is an ONLINE platform. 

Life Skills/ National Construction Certification/Hands-On Training 

  • Learn to get and keep a job while building your career with 716 Ministries’ Life Skills Training 
  • Receive national accreditation through the NCCER (National Center for Construction Education and Research) Construction Core Curriculum

This Introductory Craft Skills program features the following Modules: 

  • Basic Safety
  • Introduction to Construction Drawings 
  • Construction Math
  • Basic Communication Skills 
  • Intro to Hand Tools
  • Basic Employability Skills 
  • Intro to Power Tools
  • Material Handling

Our online program will begin May 4, 2020 and run through June 19, 2020. Classes will be held Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., with four weeks of hands-on training to follow.

Requirements: 

  • High Speed internet 
  • Laptop or desktop computer for personal use Monday through Friday during class times and sometimes after. An iPad or similar tablet would also be acceptable. Please note iPhones will not for our current programming and technology.
  • 8th to 9th grade math and reading skills 

The spring session beginning May 4 will be capped at 10 students. Tuition will be paid for by our sponsors.
