Through a donation of only $25, our eight food pantries located in central, south and east Buffalo, Lackawanna, Getzville, Franklinville and Wellsville are able to supply a meal to 8 families of four.
With a $60 donation Catholic Charities can provide one day of care for an older adult loved one, along with transportation to the Social Adult Day Program. In addition to providing critical respite care for caregivers, participants receive a snack, hot lunch and individually designed activities to enhance physical, mental and social functioning.
The Marriage Counseling Center helps individuals and couples to identify major issues - both marital and individual; helps increase communication and problem solving, the ability to manage and resolve conflict and encourages the understanding and development of intimacy. A contribution of just $90 gives a couple the opportunity to start to resolve marital issues and begin anew.
Expressive Arts Therapy is a unique resource for adults recovering from mental illness and/or addictions. A gift of $120 means 8 people can participate in a group art experience, where they will focus on self-expression through visual (fine) arts, written arts, music, song and drama.
Your donation of just $215 will provide care coordination through the Comprehensive Care Program for Older Adults. This program helps individuals and their caregivers to stay in their own homes in the community, avoiding premature placement in an institutional setting. Individualized plans of care are designed to develop or strengthen support systems to enable the older adult or caregiver to remain in control of their lives.
Tomorrow's Youth Today will provide 3 days of instruction to a classroom of 15 students with a gift of $250. The program helps 16 to 21 year olds obtain their GED, obtain a paid work experience, become more employable and even move on to college. In addition, one on one counseling support reduces barriers to success.
A gift of $1,000 to Catholic Charities will link 140 families with services critical to stabilizing and strengthening their home life. Among emergency services provided everyday to individuals and families who arrive at our doors across Western New York include linkage with HEAP (heat assistance), local pantries, Department of Social Services, day care and elder care, and individual and family counseling.
