Catholic Charities' collaborations with local businesses in support of its annual Appeal continue to grow in an effort to expand its donor base, reach a younger demographic and raise awareness about the organization's mission and services.
These collaborative events are part of Catholic Charities' efforts to attract donors from all walks of life. The events include fundraisers and a young adult networking event.
Shoppers who stop by Tony Walker & Co., 5110 Main St., Williamsville on March 26 will receive 10 percent off their purchases through the Charity Shopping Day, a collaborative effort of Catholic Charities and the retail company. Additionally, 10 percent of each purchase will go to Catholic Charities. Visit ccwny.org and search for Tony Walker & Co. The month of April features three main events:
Young professionals are invited to Sip, Mingle, Learn!, the third annual young adult networking event hosted by Catholic Charities on April 16 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Handlebar, 149 Swan St., Buffalo. In addition to networking, young adults can learn a little about how Catholic Charities helps those across Western New York through brief remarks by a former client, meeting young staff members who will be on hand, and an informative display. A Community Fundraiser will be hosted by Bob Evans Restaurant, 6635 Transit Road, Bowmansville on April 23. Catholic Charities will receive 15 percent of the daily total from patrons who present the flyer when they dine in that day. Catholic Charities will be a featured charity again in the second annual ReedsJenss' Giveback Day event. It is set for April 25 and this year will be held at both the Abbott Road, Orchard Park and Maple Road, Amherst stores. Catholic Charities will receive 10 percent from every purchase when customers select the organization as their recipient. New spring pieces from the Embrace the Difference collection, designed by store owner Robyn Zimmer, will be released and patrons who spend $90 or more on the collection will receive a gift. The discounts also are extended to the ReedsJenss' store in Niagara Falls. A catered lunch will be available at the Orchard Park and Maple Road locations, and customers will have the opportunity to meet current and former Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres players. The Appeal helps fund Catholic Charities' 70 programs across 61 sites in the eight counties of Western New York, along with the Bishop's Fund for the Faith. Last year, Catholic Charities impacted the lives of 71,273 children and 71,382 adults and seniors.
