Our Adoption & Foster Care Services

With one in every six couples struggling with infertility, adoption is an avenue many are surprised to find themselves walking down. Catholic Charities staff understands that the questions and answers are many, yet the solutions can take precious time for hopeful parents. With skill and strong resources, the Catholic Charities team works with families seeking to adopt, and with children who have a goal of adoption. Side by side, our adoptive parents never feel alone as they work through home studies, the searching process, placement, supervision, parent training and finalization of the adoption. Through Catholic Charities' adoption service, confident and excited new parents are made every year.

Catholic Charities provides parent training, home studies, placement and supervision until adoption is finalized.

Foster Care

Catholic Charities provides foster care for children of all ages, racial and ethnic groups in Erie County who cannot safely live in their own homes. Catholic Charities works with the birth families towards reunification by providing referrals for needed services and the support to ensure the children can safely return home.

Catholic Charities seeks loving, nurturing foster parents to work in partnership with Catholic Charities and birth parents in order to care for the children's physical, social, emotional and psychological needs. There is a specific need for homes that can accommodate sibling groups, as it is extremely important to support the bond between siblings. Foster parents provide care for children who cannot live in their own home, often temporarily, but sometimes permanently. Foster parents must be in good health, have adequate space in their home, be flexible and able to work in partnership.

There is a tremendous reward for caring for children in their time of need. Foster parents can make significant positive changes in children's lives and positively impact their future.
