Since 1975, Catholic Charities Department of Workforce & Education has assisted thousands of Erie and Niagara County residents (both individuals & families) gain access to education, employment and essential services. 

Catholic Charities Workforce & Education Department is comprised of comprehensive educational and workforce development programs. The department offers participants TASC preparatory classes, academic tutoring, case management, employment assistance services, retention services, and college and vocational training placement assistance.

The Workforce & Education Department is designed to meet the educational and employability development needs of individuals who are out of school and looking to obtain their high school equivalency credential, in need of remedial assistance, looking to enroll in college or vocational training programs, unemployed, underemployed, or are a dislocated worker. 

Educational Services Include: 

  • Diagnostic pre-testing for specific student needs 
  • Traditional classroom and remote high school equivalency instruction for TASC preparation 
  • One-on-one or small group high school equivalency tutoring (TASC preparation) 
  • Reading and math skills instruction 
  • High school equivalency test application process and scheduling assistance 

Employment Services Include: 

  • Job readiness skills training 
  • Resume writing 
  • Cover letter writing 
  • Financial literacy 
  • Notification of employment fairs 
  • Work-based education instruction 
  • Paid work experiences 
  • Community service project
  • Vocational training 
  • Post-Secondary Placement Assistance
